What is Chennai Photo Biennale?

Chennai is a bustling coastal metropolis in the South of India with a population of over 10 million. Chennai Photo Biennale is a city-wide festival of photography spanning multiple venues across the city including heritage buildings, public parks, beaches, train stations, reclaimed spaces and art galleries.

The 4th Edition will open across two phases starting 20 Dec 2024 and running until 16 Mar 2025.

CPB4 International Open Call Exhibition

For the first time ever, we invite photographic work from any niche to be exhibited as part of the Chennai Photo Biennale. Selected projects and images from the International Open Call will be exhibited at a public space in Chennai, accessible for free to the public.

Open Theme

Subjects ranging from nature, portraits, documentary, still life, to landscape photography are welcome. Submissions must be photographic or lens-based but can include combinations with other art forms such as performance, painting, sculpture, literature and text. We hope this gives you the freedom to submit your images without feeling constrained by a specific theme. Visit the Rules page for more details.
